The iconic band from the ’80s reunites and performs together after 35 years.

The group soared to the top of the charts with their groundbreaking hit from 1985.

It’s been 40 years since the band Til Tuesday released their iconic hit song “Voices Carry.” The group disbanded just five years later when lead singer Aimee Mann left to pursue her solo career, leaving many fans hopeless of ever seeing them perform together again. However, when the band reunited for the first time in 35 years for a concert last week, music lovers were just as excited as one might expect..

On Saturday, May 17, Mann, 64, took the stage at the Cruel World Festival in Pasadena alongside the original members of the band, including guitarist Robert Holmes, keyboard player Joey Pesce, and drummer Michael Hausman.

Before introducing the song “Voices Carry,” Mann remarked, “This is the song that made us recognizable in airports across America.” A clip of this performance was shared on Instagram.

Fans were thrilled to see the band reunited again.

“This setlist felt like a lover’s mixtape. It was pure perfection and one of the best musical moments of my life—no exaggeration,” one commenter expressed enthusiastically.

“Such an incredible performance! It absolutely blew me away! Being front row for their first show in over three decades was an unforgettable experience! 🔥❤️ I also posted a video of it on my page,” shared another fan who attended the concert live.

“They were incredible. Aimee is an amazing solo artist, but it was fantastic to see her perform some songs from ‘Til Tuesday with the band. That was a highlight for @cruelworldfest,” someone remarked.

Mann spoke with Variety about the challenges of performing with ‘Til Tuesday again ahead of the Cruel World Festival, mentioning that her singing style has changed significantly over the years.

“The biggest hurdle for me has been that, especially in the early songs, I sing completely differently,” she explained.

“I’ve found it really challenging to figure out how to sing those songs because I believe that style originated from performing in rock clubs, where I wasn’t fully aware of what I was doing; I was just trying to sing as loudly and as high as possible,” Mann explained. “Now, I’m unsure how to approach that. So, I decided to take a few voice lessons to see how professionals manage to hit higher notes that they find difficult. Over the years, I’ve lowered the key of every song because I discovered that singing in lower keys is more comfortable for me. That’s the journey I’m on, and we’ll see what happens.”
