Small Doctor sounds the alarm about the growing epidemic of drug abuse among our youth.

Afrobeats artist Small Doctor has expressed significant concern regarding the alarming increase in drug abuse among Nigerian youths. This concern follows a recent visit to his childhood neighborhood in Agege, Lagos, which revealed the troubling extent of the issue.

On his X handle, the singer expressed his concern after observing the troubling decline in the young men he once knew. Many of them now seemed disoriented, with some even seen “sleeping while standing” or caught in “strange postures” as they dozed off.

Small Doctor has advocated for intensified efforts in raising awareness about drug abuse, emphasizing the need for more public figures to actively participate in this critical initiative.

He also recalled the advice he received six years ago from the esteemed Fuji musician Wasiu Ayinde (KWAM 1), who recommended the establishment of a rehabilitation center. He predicted that such an initiative would prove to be a lucrative endeavor, particularly in light of the escalating drug crisis.

Small Doctor wrote, “There is one bros that sings against drug abuse on socials, been a minute I came across his contents (David something can’t fully remember). I think we need him more this moment.

“I strolled through hoods on Sunday and what I saw was heartbreaking. The rate young chaps use drugs nowadays is alarming .

“Wasiu Ayinde told me 6 years ago to establish a rehabilitation centre, stating it is the new oil. That man saw the future.

“Most heartbreaking was when I arrived in my hood, I saw some promising guys we grew up together sleeping while standing, some were even making some crazy postures while sleeping. So sad”.
