The track combines elements of future house, afro house, and afro tech, featuring an electric guitar recorded in the deserts of Chad. It was released alongside a music video created in collaboration with the African Parks Network, the Canada Council for the Arts, and The Natural and Cultural Reserve of Ennedi in Chad.

Afrotronix describes his sound as Saharan Electro, blending electro, Afro Tech nuances, electric blues, Afro Pop, Amapiano, Konpa, Nganja, Dubstep and bringing Afro-futurism in urban fashion, dance and digital art. It is the Sound of a Future based on ancestral values. Originating from Chad and now based in Canada, this fearless artist redefines the narrative of Chad and Africa, using his melodies to invite us all to envision the future.
Caleb Rimtobaye, known as Afrotronix, is a talented guitarist and producer. He has collaborated with legendary artists such as Baaba Maal, Youssou N’dour, Stonebwoy, Mbongwana Stars, Lorenzo Jovanotti, and Brian Kennedy, who has previously produced for artists like Rihanna and Chris Brown.

Afrotronix is one of the first Chadian artists to gain international acclaim, becoming an icon of vibrant and resilient Chadian culture. Proudly wearing the DOM—a helmet that symbolizes reimagined ancestral wisdom—Afrotronix’s music pays homage to the voices of the greatest avant-garde African artists, inspired by a spirit of innovation.

In the futuristic desert of northern Chad, a man embarks on a journey to discover his ancestral roots. His quest leads him to one of the oldest cave painting sites, where he uncovers the secrets of 9,000 years ago, revealing how ancient humans used the “dom” as a sacred tool. “Oda Ye” is a journey through the lands of Toumaï country, aimed at rediscovering the strength and beauty of Chad and Africa. It invites us to come together and embrace our shared heritage. “Oda Ye” translates to “look up.”
